| The late 1700s gave rise to the French Revolution, the abandonment of the status quo signalled a drastic change in fashion as well. In response to France's new simplicity gowns worn by the upper classes suddenly took on classical shapes, simpler lines, and lost the voluminous piles of fabric associated with the eras prior. This gown is made from an actual authentic reproduction pattern based on the dresses of that era! You will absolutely make an entrance in this devastatingly beautiful and feminine gown, at any event. Made in blood red taffeta with a black sheen to it, this gown has a lovely Vampyric feel to it. It features a wide neckline that is worn barely onto the shoulders, puffed sleeves with tapered fitted cuffs. The bust is gathered and the dress has an empire waist-line, which is very flattering and feminine. The dress itself is floor length and is several inches longer in the back so it creates the illusion of a false train. This dress will create a statuesque appearance. The back is gathered high on the body to cascade down in delicate pleating to the floor. Fastens with 17 black buttons and loops down the back, for an authentic decadent feel. Accompanied by a matching collar, featuring black woven trim, blood red glass beads, and a dangling cross charm. You are welcome to order the collar in contrasting black taffeta or the matching red. This gown is comfortable and dramatically Gothic, there will only be two in existence ever in this exact fabric. Also available in black! |
