| The Ghosts of Thuringia The forgotten foundlings of a doll factory that burned to the ground in the late 1800s in Thuringia, Germany. Buried in the rubble & left to decay, these precious ghosts often lost limbs to the soil, their porcelain pallor destroyed by mold & rot. Imperfect & unwanted. Recently excavated from the earth nearby the doll factory these petite corpses & the limbs of their peers provide the basis for the Ghosts of Thuringia jewelry collection. Paired with semi-precious stones, glass, & other materials these collector's pieces are all individual works of art. Preserving the haunting beauty of these pale unwanted children's toys. The dolls themselves are porcelain, they are presented as they were found, with a touch of cleaning. Some do not have their gloss coats painted on at all. Some display damage, such as missing limbs or rust staining from their burial. Each doll is named, & comes with a card explaining its history & origin. No two are the same. These extremely limited edition pieces will only appear once, and never again. Each piece is hand crafted in our studio and guaranteed to be the only one in existence. |
