Every spring the irises my dad has planted in previous years burst to bloom. Banks of delicate purple flowers crowd around the pond like rows of prim Victorian women in their best dresses watching spring unfold around them.
-Chiffon exterior with a beautiful flow to it, the fabric has a lovely faintly rough texture and is light and airy.
-Pastel purple (lavender) with white lace accents.
-Lined bodice and lined skirt in cotton poplin for comfort.
-Round neckline with false front button closure framed in pleats.
-Corset lacing detail at the sides of the bodice give it a romantic feel. Laces through elastic loops with lavender satin ribbon. Can be used to cinch the waistline in a tiny amount (not intended for body shaping obviously). The lacing will come double laced and will need to be relaced if you prefer a corset style criss-crossed look.
-The sleeves end before the elbow but have elastic cuffs which can be moved to sit wherever you like. Pleating details.
-The skirt has several tiers of soft chiffon ruffles trimmed in soft white cotton lace with a scalloped edge.
-Back zipper closure.
-The skirt is wide enough for your largest petticoat (not included). The dress hangs like a simple A-line otherwise.
-Dry clean only.
