How To Wash Your Gloomth Designs

Here’s how we recommend caring for your Gloomth designs. If you can access dry-cleaning it’s always the best way to keep your dresses pressed and beautiful. However many of our designs can also be washed at home! :)

*Always wash with similar colors or alone!

♥ Cotton Poplin Dresses

Our poplin styles such as the “Viola”, “Syrup”, and “Victoria” (etc) dresses can be machine washed on a delicate cycle in cold water. Hang to dry and iron on a low setting once dry (or through a cotton cloth on medium). This includes any of these with some lace or velvet accents (eg our “Claudia” dress).

♥ Velvet Dresses

Our velvet designs such as our “Malice” and “October” dresses (etc) can be machine washed on a cold setting and hung to dry, they do not need to be ironed. Dry cleaning will preserve these best however. Some color bleeding during the first wash or two may occur (curiously with our “Dauphine” blue more than the other shades) so wash these alone or by hand to prevent dye transfer.

♥ Spiked Dresses

Any of our dresses with mixed materials need to be carefully washed. We strongly recommend dry cleaning for our spiked items.

♥ Organza Dresses

Our sheer organza dresses such as our “Licorice” and “Shamrock” (etc) can be machine washed on a delicate setting in cold water and hung to dry. Hang to dry and iron on a low setting once dry (or through a cotton cloth on medium). Do not use high heat on this fabric. *Our organza aprons should only be hand washed in cold water and hung to dry!

♥ Chiffon Dresses

Our soft chiffon fabric used in our “Iris” and “Havisham” (etc) dresses for example do best with dry cleaning. With the layered fabric and internal layer they don’t love being machine washed. It can be done but we don’t recommend it.

♥ Long Sheer Dresses

Our “Veronica” etc dresses are made of a sheer poly blend fabric, similar to chiffon but a little more durable. These can easily be hand washed or machine washed in cold water on a delicate setting. They won’t need ironing but can be steamed or just hang it in your bathroom while you have a really hot shower to shake out wrinkles in the fabric.

♥ Print Dresses, Skirts, Swimsuits, Leggings, Tights etc.

All of our print items can be machine washed in cold water on any old setting. They can withstand dryers as well but to best preserve the prints we recommend air drying.
