"Victoria" Victorian Mourning Dress with Velvet Trim

Black grosgrain or velvet ribbon was used by the Victorians to indicate one was in mourning. It was incorporated into clothing and accessories, or tied to items as a symbol of loss. Our “Victoria'“ dress is a modern take on a historical style. There’s something so lovely about being able to convey a recent loss without speaking.
-Black cotton poplin, with a touch of stretch for comfort.
-Long sleeves with button cuffs trimmed in black velvet. Puffed at the shoulder seam for a proper Victorian feel.
-Removable cotton poplin sash belt can be tied round the waist for definition or not worn at all. One belt loop at the side seam on the bodice of the dress helps keep it in place when worn.
-Back zipper closure.
-Hand wash cold, hang to dry, iron on low when necessary.
-High collar with ruffle trim.
-Decorative buttons at the yoke. Framed in black velvet trim with ruffles in cotton poplin.
-Fitted bodice.
-Full skirt wide enough for even your biggest petticoat (not included). Hangs as a simple A-line style dress without a petticoat underneath.
-Rows of ruffles adorn the skirt.
